European funds hit €7 trillion for first time

Latest ECB figures show EU funds had record assets under management before the June sell-off

Money invested in investment funds across the 28 member states of the European Union rose to over €7 trillion for the first time ever in May 2013, as equity funds grew in value.

Figures from the European Central Bank show cash investment in funds other than money market funds totaled €7.02 trillion (£6.03 trillion) in May, up €29 billion from €6.99 trillion under management in April.
