European institutions reduce bond investments

Continental European institutions are continuing to diversify their investment portfolios and are reducing their bond holdings in favour of equities.

According to Greenwich Associates, the strategic consulting company, fixed income fell from 57% to 59% between 1998 and 1999. The findings are based on recent interviews with nearly 250 continental European pension fund, insurance, foundation and other institutional officials.
