Investment banks stopped offering carrots to lure staff back to the office and wielded the stick of “corrective action” instead this year.

Gone are the early post-pandemic days of free pizza and the promise of more collaborative working spaces. Instead, banks upped the number of days they require staff in the office and started tracking compliance with the rules.
