Michel Barnier, the European Union’s lead negotiator on Brexit trade talks with the UK, has tested positive for the coronavirus.

In a message posted on his official Twitter account on Thursday, Barnier wrote: “I would like to inform you that I have tested positive for #COVID19. I am doing well and in good spirits.”
