The European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association has hired the head of risk management at the European Union’s venture capital fund to help promote the reputation of the sector across Europe.

Thomas Meyer, co-author of industry book Beyond the J-Curve: Managing a Portfolio of Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds, will join EVCA at the beginning of the year for a three-year secondment from the European Investment Fund. At EIF he was head of risk management and monitoring and created the fund's risk management system.
