Evergreen's chief investment officer departs abruptly

Evergreen Investments' chief investment officer is leaving unexpectedly, after Wachovia's asset management arm had been on a recruitment spree.

Christopher Conkey, who had been with the firm for 19 years and was its CIO since 2003, is leaving the firm as of August 14, according to a spokeswoman.
