Evolution Beeson Gregory runs first share sale for ebookers

Evolution Beeson Gregory is underwriting the £39.8m (€37.4m) share placing for ebookers, the UK-based online travel company that changed its financial adviser and broker twice last year.

JP Morgan led the travel company's $70.4m (€66.2m) initial public offering in 1999, when it was known as ebookers.com, as well as a secondary offering in July 2000. In February 2001 ebookers replaced JP Morgan with Collins Stewart as broker, and seven months later dropped Collins Stewart in favour of Evolution Beeson Gregory on the basis of its research. Oliver Strong, investor relations manager at ebookers, said at the time that the coverage from Robin Chhadra, Evolution Beeson Gregory's analyst, put the company on the radar of a greater number of institutions.
