Evolution makes move for ex-Fortis wealth unit

The head of Williams de Broë – a wealth management unit owned by Evolution – could take control of his old employer should deal with BNP Paribas succeed

The head of Williams de Broë, the wealth management business owned by Evolution Group, could take control of his old employer with the acquisition of a private banking arm of BNP Paribas.

Evolution said this morning it is in talks to buy BNP Paribas Private Investment Management, which is the former Fortis wealth management unit, from the French bank in a bid to expand its wealth management business. It did not disclose any potential price.
