Sir Peter Middleton, former chairman of Barclays, the UK banking group, is joining Fenchurch Advisory Partners, a financial services corporate finance firm, as a senior adviser.

Middleton, who spent 30 years at the UK Treasury prior to joining Barclays in 1991, served as chairman of Barclays Capital, the UK bank's investment banking arm, prior to becoming overall group chairman, a post he held until last September.
