Ex-HSBC rainmakers land plum role on $17bn Blackstone takeover

A team of former HSBC dealmakers who left to set up a corporate finance boutique has landed a key role on Blackstone's biggest acquisition since the financial crisis.

The Canson Capital Partners bankers are running the private equity firm's $17.3bn bid for a controlling stake in Thomson Reuters' financial terminals and data business. News of the deal broke yesterday.
