Ex-Merrill trader accused of laundering $43m

Merrill Lynch failed to notice for two years that an energy trader had siphoned off more than $40m (€35m) of its money into off-shore bank accounts, according to an investigation by US and Canadian authorities.

Daniel Gordon, a former senior energy markets trader at Merrill Lynch, is being investigated for money laundering in a case dating back to 2000.
