Ex-Morgan Stanley CEO James Gorman to join General Atlantic as senior adviser

General Atlantic has hired former Morgan Stanley chief executive James Gorman as an adviser ahead of a possible IPO for the US private equity firm.

The veteran Wall Street banker will join General Atlantic as a senior adviser on 1 April, the firm said in a statement.
