Ex-private banker’s villa is the most expensive in the world

The former French Riviera villa of the late Edmund Safra has been bougth by a Russian billionaire for €500m, making it the most expensive residential property ever sold.

Safra's widow Lily agreed to sell La Léopolda overlooking Cap Ferrat after her initial unwillingness to agree a sale, said French media reports.
