Ex-Prudential CEO named chairman of Morgan Stanley in Europe

A former chief executive of Prudential Group has been appointed as chairman of Morgan Stanley's European business, which is beginning to position itself for life after the UK's exit from the European Union.

Jonathan Bloomer takes over from Ian Plenderleith, 75, who is retiring, according to a spokesman for the bank. Bloomer has been a non-executive director on the board of Morgan Stanley International since 2016.
