Ex-Sonera chief charged with secrecy law violations

The former chief executive of Sonera, the Finnish telecommunications company, and five former colleagues have been charged with gross violation of Finland's communications secrecy laws, following a police investigation into the firm.

Associated Press, the news agency reports that the investigation focused on whether employees suspected of leaking information about management disputes to journalists, had had their telephone calls and emails illegally monitored in 2001 and 2002.
