Colin Buchan, a former investment banker and an experienced figure in the Scottish business community, has taken a non-executive role at Standard Life Investments.

Buchan retired from his role as global head of equities at UBS Warburg last year. He joined SG Warburg in 1987 in Asia, having already worked in Africa for the African Finance Corporation. His international experience was perceived as a significant asset to Standard Life, which is opening a Boston office later this year.
