The former head of industrials investment banking at UBS has chosen a well-trodden path among the Swiss group's bankers and taken up a senior role at Jefferies.

Chris Niehaus, who was among a crop of managing directors who left UBS in the summer of last year, joined Jefferies as a managing director in London last week.
