Emerging markets bank KNG Securities has hired a senior markets professional from VTB Capital, which shuttered its London investment bank in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine last year.

Gary Ballard has been taken on as head of equities at KNG Securities, which has been adding sales and trading staff in recent months. Ballard previously led the international stock trading unit of VTB Capital, the investment banking arm of the Russian lender.
