Mark Carney, the former head of the central banks of the UK and Canada and the United Nations’ point man on climate change and finance, has taken on a new role advising companies on the global economy with Macro Advisory Partners, a consulting firm.
Carney has been appointed senior counsellor, the firm said on 31 January, adding another role to a portfolio of jobs that includes heading up Canadian asset manager Brookfield Asset Management’s sustainable investment business. Carney is also the UN’s special envoy on climate action and finance, in which he is tasked with persuading the world’s biggest banks and investors to stump up billions of dollars to fight climate change.
