Exchanges face up to cyber attack threat

Over half of bourses have repelled an internet-borne ‘warlike act’ in the past year

Stock exchanges once viewed technological prowess as their greatest asset, but it may increasingly become a chink in their armour. Bourses all around the world are arming themselves against a rise in what experts have called “warlike” acts of cybercrime.

It sounds like something from a Hollywood blockbuster, but these attacks are happening right now, on an alarmingly frequent basis. And exchanges do not always know that they are even happening.
