EY has been fined nearly £5m for “serious breaches” in its work on the audits of Thomas Cook in the run up to the travel company’s 2019 collapse.

Thomas Cook went bust in 2019 leading to what the UK government called the “largest peacetime repatriation in history,” as thousands of stranded holidaymakers were flown back to the UK.
