EY is being investigated over its audits of the Post Office following the Horizon IT scandal that led to hundreds of sub-post masters being prosecuted on the basis of faulty data.

Between 1999 and 2015 more than 900 sub post masters were prosecuted for theft or fraud based on incorrect data from the Horizon IT system.
