EY has told staff in the UK that pay increases will be less generous than in previous years, with redundancies to come amid a tough economic climate and rising costs.

Leaders of the accounting firm’s British business told staff that bonus pools will be smaller this year and split among a limited number of people, while for some teams, bonus pools will be cut in half, people familiar with the matter told the Financial Times.
