F&C Asset Management, the £107bn (€159bn) funds group controlled by insurer Friends Provident, has hired an official from the UK government's Stern review into the economic impact of climate change. She will lead the manager's green investment process.

Vicki Bakhshi, previously a policy adviser at the Treasury, becomes an associate director in F&C's governance and socially responsible investment team.
