Family offices set for increased allocation to private equity

Family offices have become an integral part of the European private equity investor community and will continue to increase allocations to the asset class, according to a study by the European Private Equity & Venture Capital Association.

The report estimated there are about 500 family offices investing in Europe, with a fifth managing more than €1bn in assets. The average allocation to private equity was 12%, while the highest was almost 50%, according to the association.
