Pitchforks come out for Esma rulebook

Europe's new trading rulebook, which is in the process of being finalised, is drawing mounting opposition from farmers who use derivatives to hedge against future price shocks.

The National Union of Farmers and other agricultural bodies were among those making submissions to the European Securities and Markets Authority in its consultation on the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II, the responses to which were released earlier this week.
