FCA chair Ashley Alder accused of violating whistleblower confidentiality rules

The regulator requires firms to have rules in place to protect the identity of whistleblowers

The chair of the Financial Conduct Authority is under fire after he allegedly revealed the identity of a whistleblower to other staff at the regulator.

According to the Financial Times, a member of staff at the FCA contacted Ashley Alder asking for help, Alder then forwarded his correspondence with the whistleblower’s details unredacted to two other people in December and March.
