FCA chair Ashley Alder cleared over whistleblower accusations

Ex-employees of the regulator alleged that Alder did not keep their identity confidential

The Financial Conduct Authority has found that its chair Ashley Alder, did not act inappropriately when he sought advice from colleagues over two whistleblowing cases.

An ex-FCA employee had alleged that their identity was not kept confidential when Alder shared their emails with other senior staff at the financial regulator. A second former staff member made a similar allegation against Alder following public reports of the first complaint.
