The UK's financial regulator has dismissed a threat of legal action by prominent City campaigner Gina Miller, who last week threatened to take it to court over its implementation of tough new trading rules.

Financial Newspreviously reported that Miller had consulted lawyers about potentially suing the Financial Conduct Authority over a decision to show leniency to firms not yet 100% compliant with the European Union's revised Markets in Financial Instruments Directive.
