Unite is set to take a seat on the Financial Conduct Authority's staff committee for the first time, as the UK's markets watchdog looks to move past last year's bitter disputes with the union over pay and perks.

The staff committee has voted to allow union officials a spot on the group, which represents the 4,000 employees at the watchdog, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News, with more than 75% supporting the change.
