FCA plans to permanently ban promotion of mini-bonds

A permanent ban would also include listed bonds with similar features to speculative illiquid securities

The temporary ban on promoting “speculative mini-bonds” to retail investors could become permanent under proposals set out by the Financial Conduct Authority.

In a statement on 18 June, the FCA said that the permanent ban will take effect from January 2021. The regulator is also planning to extend the scope of the ban.
