The UK market regulator has fined UBS £27.6m for failing to report tens of millions of transactions properly, warning that such errors increase the risk of market abuse not being spotted.

The Financial Conduct Authority said the Swiss bank’s failings related to 135.8 million erroneous transaction reports made between November 2007 and May 2017.
