FCA review into chair was a ‘whitewash’ says whistleblower

The regulator found Ashley Alder violated its policies, but cleared him of wrongdoing. The whistleblower who raised the allegations says the FCA’s probe didn’t go far enough

The whistleblower at the heart of accusations that Financial Conduct Authority chair Ashley Alder violated their confidentiality said the review clearing Alder of wrongdoing was biased and lacked transparency and impartiality.

“It’s absolutely a whitewash,” the whistleblower told Financial News. “It’s an exercise in reputation management.”
