The Financial Conduct Authority is set to require lenders to share data with credit reference agencies as part of an overhaul of the credit information market.

The FCA announced the proposals on 5 December as part of a range of initiatives aimed at improving the quality of information collated by credit reference agencies, which the watchdog said would boost competition in the market.
