UK lawyers see little that is new or revolutionary in Financial Conduct Authority rules published October 6 to encourage more whistleblowing in the City and have called on the regulator to rethink its stance on not paying those who come forward with information.

The policy is at odds with its US counterpart which last year paid one informant $30 million.
