FCA’s incoming boss vows to tackle diversity issues at watchdog and the City

Nikhil Rathi wants to address the watchdog’s pipeline issues to help tackle its ‘complex policy problems’

Nikhil Rathi, the incoming chief executive of the Financial Conduct Authority, told MPs on 22 July that boosting diversity in “all its dimensions” will be one of his top priorities at the helm of the City watchdog. 

During a cross-examination conducted by the influential Treasury Committee, Rathi said: “There are deep issue in the financial services industry, I’m sure there are challenges at the FCA as well.”
