Fed's McDonough to head SEC accounting oversight group

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed William McDonough, the outgoing president and chief executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, to head its new accounting oversight board.

McDonough, who retires from the New York Fed in July, was unveiled by SEC chairman William Donaldson as the new chairman of the public company accounting oversight board on Tuesday.
