Few IPOs predicted on Neuer Markt in 1st quarter

Few companies will be braving the Neuer Markt, Frankfurt's high growth stock market, in the first quarter of 2001, analysts said Thursday.

Analysts see continued bearishness surrounding IPOs despite the rise in share prices following Wednesday's unexpected interest rate cut by the US Federal Reserve. The Fed's cut of 50 basis points to 6% led to record gains on Wall Street as Nasdaq rose 14.11%, its biggest one-day increase ever.
