Fidelity International names new head of bond investment

New chief investment officer of $82bn franchise will take over from Charles McKenzie, who retires at the end of the year

Fidelity International has promoted one of its senior portfolio managers to head up its $82bn fixed income investment team after Charles McKenzie retires at the end of the year.

Steve Ellis, an important part of the fund manager’s $6bn emerging-markets debt franchise, will take over from McKenzie as global chief investment officer for fixed income. He will hand his funds  Greer and Eric Wong, the current co-managers, the company said.
