Heavyweight investors are supposed to be at the forefront of major ESG trends, yet fewer than half are familiar with the concept of a “just transition” — the idea that everyone benefits as the world moves to a low-carbon economy, particularly those in developing countries.
According to a survey of 127 European and Asian institutional investors and intermediaries by asset manager Fidelity International and Coalition Greenwich, only 42% said they were aware of the term, despite it becoming a more integral focus for asset managers via their stewardship and engagement efforts with companies.
