A dearth of women in senior positions may be widely recognised as a concern for financial services firms, but Financial News’ Women in Finance survey 2017 shows that the problem runs much deeper – gender diversity across all levels of the industry still falls well short of parity.

Almost half (46%) of respondents to FN’s survey work in teams or business lines where less than a quarter are women. A further 23% said female colleagues represent between 26% and 40% of their team while only 14% said women outnumber men.
