Financial News launches wealth management news service

A dedicated newsletter and round-up of Europe’s top leaders will kick off a new content stream in November

Financial News launches wealth management news service

Financial News is bolstering its coverage of the European wealth management industry.

From 4 November, we will be bringing our readers exclusive news, features and analysis on the sector, as well as interviews with top executives in the space.

You’ll find a dedicated hub for wealth-related content on our website, and we are also launching a weekly wealth newsletter to keep you up to date with all the latest news. To sign up click here now.

Boosting FN’s coverage will coincide with the publication of our inaugural Twenty Most Influential in Wealth Management list — a roundup of the most impressive executives in Europe.

Ahead of the launch, we are also running a survey to hear what our readers think about some of the sector’s key challenges, from Consumer Duty to consolidation and AI. Make your voice heard here.

Wealth management has a storied history in the City. Rathbones and Charles Stanley, two of the oldest wealth firms in the UK, date back to the 18th century.

But the industry is ripe for disruption. Regulatory shifts and geopolitical and economic uncertainty have squeezed fees and revenue in recent years, creating openings for nimble, low-cost players to gobble up market share.

A lack of investment in technology has also put established players on the defensive.

Despite the many headwinds facing the sector, wealth management remains a red-hot area of the market thanks to an unprecedented level of assets set to shift from one generation to the next.

Millennials are expected to inherit $90tn from their Baby Boomer parents over the next decade in the US alone, while in the UK £5.5tn of assets will change hands over the next 30 years.

With dealmaking drying up, banks including Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and HSBC have been rapidly expanding their wealth businesses to cushion the blow.

To keep on top of all FN’s wealth management coverage, make sure you are subscribed to read all of our exclusive news, features and more.
