The Financial Reporting Council has named Anthony Appleton as director of accounting and reporting. He will work alongside Melanie McLaren, the executive director for codes and standards, on influencing the development of international financial reporting standards for UK needs. The chartered accountant joins from BDO, where he was a director in the financial reporting advisory team. He has been on the FRC's Accounting Council since May 2013.
