Financial sector appeal wanes among UK graduates

University graduates in the UK have ranked jobs in banking and finance as the least appealing when considering a career, according to a new report that highlights how the reputations of the biggest financial brands have been damaged over the past two years.

Recruitment outsourcing company Alexander Mann Solutions polled 2009 and 2010 graduates on which sectors they perceived as offering the best opportunities to university leavers. A total 30% of respondents ranked the public sector as most attractive.
