An investment banker who has had a hand in some of Europe's biggest bank capital raisings since the financial crisis has been handed control of UBS's advisory and underwriting business in the region.

The decision to appoint Javier Oficialdegui as head of corporate client solutions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa was announced in an internal memo on Wednesday that also confirmed new heads in the US and Asia.
