Paperless bond markets?
Talk of automating the bond markets usually conjures images of robots taking over the trading floor. But one former debt and derivatives specialist wants to bring new technology to a less feted corner of the market: the mountain of legal paperwork that accompanies corporate and government debt issues. Origin Markets, founded by former Lehman and Credit Suisse trader Raja Palaniappan, is teaming up with magic circle law firm Allen & Overy to automate the preparation of so-called final term documents for debt placements.
