Unlikely as it seems, a period of bad performance from Old Mutual Wealth investment chief Richard Buxton inspired former Morgan Stanley banker Romi Savova to set up a fintech business to empower pension savers.

The firm, PensionBee, pulls small pots of pension savings into single accounts, accessible to mobile phones.  This, however, depends on getting existing pension providers to release the money they hold.
