First State loses £340m investment trust mandate to Baillie Gifford

First State Investments, the Edinburgh-based arm of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, has been dropped as the fund manager to the £340m (€484m) Scottish American Investment Company.

The move follows First State Investments' decision to scale back UK equity operations.
