Fitch fined €5.1m by EU regulator for conflicts-of-interest breach

The European Securities and Markets Authority has fined three national subsidiaries of the credit ratings agency

The European Union’s financial regulator has fined Fitch €5.1m for breaking rules around conflicts of interest.

The European Securities and Markets Authority said in a statement on March 28 that the credit ratings agency had been in breach of its conflicts requirements between June 2013 and April 2018.
