Fixed-income revenues weather downturn

Fixed income has established itself as a viable asset class, but equity businesses will not make up for declining debt revenues at European wholesale banks, according to a report by Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB).

The Swiss-American investment bank's equity research team, led by Marc Rubenstein, said third-quarter revenues, which were driven by fixed income, were particularly impressive in light of poor market conditions for debt.
